چکیده
The availability of suitable road construction materials that meet the specification requirements is becoming scarce, therefore use marginal presents challenges during and performance when used in projects. This study exploited gap existed by investigating engineering properties cinder gravel sourced from Meru County Kenya. objectives were to evaluate characteristics neat blended for suitability as pavement material Low Volume Sealed Roads (LVSRs). evaluated strength grading at different levels compaction investigated relationship between shear particle size using a box test. methodology involved both fieldwork laboratory tests on grading, Atterberg’s limits, tests, (CBR), repetitive sample tests. established its natural state was non-plastic poorly graded due deficiency fine particles <0.075 mm (µm) with locally available material. optimum blending ratio 90% + 10% weathered rock met subbase base LVSRs. showed MDD increased level compaction, indicating better interlocking Similarly, (unsoaked CBR) compaction. There gradual increase Plasticity Index number cycles breakage gravels into finer For soaked specimen, CBR decreased because ingress water, dispersed lost properties. decrease angle shearing resistance (φ). In conclusion, improved including cohesiveness

Human resource capacity for information management in selected public healthcare facilities in Meru County, Kenya
INTRODUCTION Reliable health information is essential for decision making in the healthcare system. Information management in Kenya was considered the weakest area under the Health Information System pillar mainly due to inadequate health workers capacity. The study therefore aimed at assessing health workers skills and current training needs for information management in the selected healthcar...

A survey of plants and plant products traditionally used in livestock health management in Buuri district, Meru County, Kenya
BACKGROUND Up till now, nomadic communities in Africa have been the primary focus of ethnoveterinary research. Although mainly arable and/or mixed arable/pastoral farmers, Ameru of central Kenya are known to have a rich history of ethnoveterinary knowledge. Their collective and accumulative ethnoveterinary knowledge (EVK) is likely to be just as rich and worth documenting. The aim of the study ...

A procedure for stabilization/solidification of loose waste from the manufacture of Ni and Cd electrodes, which represents a nonutilizable and noncombustible hazardous waste, has been worked out. The procedure comprises solidifying the waste by means of an anionic slow-setting aqueous-asphalt emulsion with subsequent formation of an asphalt coating on the surface of solidified waste by spraying...
